credit can provide substantial
savings. It reduces the amount of
income tax you have to pay, if you
owe at the end of the year. If you

increase your refund amount by up to

The Energy Tax Incentives Act:
Provides a consumer tax credit up to
$500 for 10% of the cost of
qualified remodeling projects that
improve the energy efficiency of an
existing home—including replacement
windows.
Allows $200 of the $500 total credit
to be attributed to replacement
windows.
Applies to improvements made after
December 31, 2005.
